us to produce crisp clean images on a variety of materials. Our multi-colored
stamping work has received the "Best of Show" award from The

By depressing or raising the material, either of these techniques is an
excellent choice to give your product a dimensional look and feel.
Hand Made Custom Packaging
When a design is truly unique, there may be one-way to produce it, the
old fashioned way. Handwork has been the foundation of Holum & Sons
since our inception over 65 years ago. With the craftsmanship and knowledge
gained over the years we have the ability to manufacture award-winning
work by hand for that one of a kind look and feel.
Personalization
Have your products personalized with foil stamping, blind debossing or
silk screening. All products may be personalized prior to the final assembly
and many after assembly.
Consultant Packaging
We will assist you to design a presentation product that reflects your
corporate image. These products will then be manufactured with your logo
art and held in stock. When needed, we will title the required amount
with additional copy to reflect your specific project.
High Speed in Line Case Making
Our brand new, digitally controlled, robotic case making line enables
us to produce high volume jobs quickly and accurately. The state-of-the-art
features of this machine help to reduce cost, increase speed and accuracy
while maintaining superior product quality.
Euro Creased Binders
If you have experienced difficulty with the hinges on your product failing
after a short time, review the "Euro Crease" method. This process
uses two creases to form a traditional flat back binder and multiple creases
to form a rounded spine giving it a distinctive shelf presence. Since,
one-piece board is used, it becomes an integral part of the hinge and
resists failure through repeated use or cracking due to cold temperature.
Index Tabs and Collation
Compliment your packaging with custom index tabs that are available in
many configurations and colors. Materials such as Mylar reinforced paper
and durable polyethylene or polypropylene are available. Color separating
index tabs by category is an excellent choice for easy identification.
Collation, banding or shrink-wrapping and installation are all available
prior to shipping.
Offset Printing
Photo realistic offset printing, at 150-line screen, will bring your image
to life with bright, vibrant colors and are available on many different
materials such as paper, vinyl, polyethylene, polypropylene and linen
book cloth.
Lamination
Offset printing on paper should be protected and reinforced with a gloss,
or matte laminate. This will enhance the appearance and protect the printing
while creating a more durable product.
Warehousing and Drop Shipping
If you are limited on space, allow us to warehouse your products for you.
Simply call us with your release requirements and we will handle the rest.

The file formats we accept:
A. It is important to note that we use PC's, but we also accept files
from Macintosh as well, if they are saved in the proper fashion.
B. We use the following lists of Programs, and prefer the file types these
programs can create, Adobe Illustrator 10, or lesser version, Adobe PhotoShop
6.0 and Adobe Streamline or any other program that can output in the following
file types.
1, Preferred file types these programs can create:
a. Adobe (.PDF), BMP (.BMP), CorelDraw(.CDR), Encapsulated PostScript(.EPS
or .AI), GIG89a(.GIF), JPEG(.JPG), Macintosh PICT(.PIC), PCX(.PCX), PhotoShop(.PSD),
PIXCT file(.Pct), TIFF(.TIF).
C. For our purposes, vector-outlined formats such as .EPS and .Ai (which
can be produced form programs like Adobe Illustrator and Adobe PhotoShop)
are preferred for utilizing our CNC technology, or for printouts for copper
etching. The outlines are made up of points and can be more easily manipulated.
They also produce clean crisp edges for ideal printouts.
D. Raterized formats such as .BMO and .TIF are also accepted for printouts
for copper etching. These file formats are saved with a certain resolution
or DPI (dot per inch) and produce clean crisp edges. But these types of
files tend to vary in size during the file transfer.
1. These type or files need to be sent our to us with a resolution of
250dpi, and in black and white only. The printout will be used to make
a camera shot directly onto film for copper etching. We must also have
the exact dimensions of the art to be used, to make sure the integrity
of the file did not change.
Guidelines for sending digital files:
A. Saving files/Naming Files/Content of files
1. Saving files- Scaling should be 100%(only the size to be stamped/embossed)
and the file should indicate the Right Reading.
a. For art created in Adobe Illustrator or Adobe PhotoShop all the text
used needs to be created into outlines. If the text you used to can not
be changed to outlines, we will need to know the program that was used
to create the document and we will also need a copy of the font you used
to download into our computer for proper translation of the image.
b. To simplify this problem with text you can save your document as a
>PDF or a .BMP file.
2. Naming Files- If you are sending art from a Macintosh it is important
to follow the PC format: do not use any more than eight characters for
the filename, and follow with the correct prefix (i.e. .EPS or .AI).
3. Content of Files-
a. Include no imagery other than what you want to appear on the engraving.
b. Rasterized images should be black and white and saved with a minimum
of 250 dpi.
c. If you file contains more than one layer of information, try to bring
it all together in one layer.
It is important to remember that these format and guidelines are just
a general rule of thumb. What is listed is not necessarily the only way
we can accept electronic files. These are some guidelines that we have
found to be the best and easiest to work with.
It is also recommended that we speak with the company sending the digital
file before any work on either end begins. We use this on the phone to
do our troubleshooting with the customer to cut back on valuable time
lost with unusable or corrupted artwork.
If you have any questions or comments please do not hesitate to call
us.
Ink Colors
A color match charge of $30 applies to all in house commercial P.M.S.
matches. A charge of $75 applies to all out of house P.M.S. color matches.
Heavy coverage may require an additional charge based on the square inches

will not replicate a spot P.M.S. color in many instances. If a specific
